Previously, if you used a system font, provided you welded your text (which turns that text into an image) you were able to save the project and share it with anyone.
Now, if you use a system font, whether your text is welded or not, your project will be saved with sharing set to "Only me".
And, if you edit an existing project you might see the message below when you click Save.
(It doesn't matter if you click Save or Save As... the "Who can view this project?" will be saved with "Only me" selected.)
You can still share your projects that contain system fonts. But you now have to perform an extra step.
- Make sure you weld any text that uses a system font. If you don't weld your text it will be changed to Arial when anyone else opens the project if they don't have the same font you used installed on their device. Keep in mind that they won't be able to edit the text as it is now an image.
- Save your project as usual
- If you see the orange error box (as above) click on the green "Save" button in the error message.
- Click on your project name at the top of the DS screen.
- Click "Edit Project Details" from the bottom of the project preview.
- Scroll to the bottom and from the "Who can view this project" box, click on the down arrow beside "Only me" and select "Anyone with link". (Or choose "Everyone" if you want to share it to the Cricut Community.)
- Click Save.
- To share your project (with a friend or within in email/Facebook group/message etc) click the Copy Project Link option. The URL for that project will be copied to your clipboard ready to paste (CTRL V) into your message/email.
