CRICUT: Tri-fold Shutter card cut file

Hi everyone,

Today I have a tri-fold shutter card cut file to share with you. But not just any old tri-fold!

I've used a template shared by Sandy Allnock. Many of you will know Sandy as the founder of Operation Write Home. If you're familiar with her blog you may have even seen the card below!

Sandy took the regular tri-fold shutter card and adapted it to make more room for writing a message. I love this version!

They are so easy to put together and so much fun to decorate! Thanks Sandy for allowing me to use your design for my cut file.

Sandy has a video showing how to fold and assemble the card so make sure you check it out!

Click the image below to go to her tutorial.

Make sure you leave her some blog love while you're there!

It's an awesome version and I'm very grateful that she was happy for me to share it with you as a cut file!

Here's Sandy's gorgeous tri-fold card!

Here's my version partly decorated.... I kind of had "embellishment block" at this point but wanted to share the file with you, so here it is!

Here's the link to my Design Space file:

Cutting instructions:

Please note, my version is just under 11.5" wide. (Sandy's is 12" wide.)  That's because the Cricut can't cut any wider than 11.5" when using the standard 12" mat.

For folding/assembly instructions check out Sandy Allnocks video here: http://sandyallnock.com/trifold-shutter-card-tutorial-new-with-room-to-write

I hope you enjoy using the file!

CUTTLEBUG: How NOT to renew your B plate

Last week I saw a tutorial showing how to cook your Cuttlebug B plate to make it like new. (You know how after you've used it for a while it gets a bow in it???)

Well, mine was looking a little worse for wear so I thought I'd give it a try...

Big mistake!!! Looks like I'm now in the market for a new B plate. :)

I didn't get a photo of how it looked before (go look at yours and mine probably looked similar...) but here's the after... it's now a bubbly cracked mess! And it's so rough now I could probably use it to exfoliate my elbows!!

So... what went wrong???

Well...... I may have forgotten to take it out of the oven after 30 minutes... and only remembered an hour and a half later....

(My cooking skills are fairly similar! Just ask the family....)

In case you want to see how it's done properly, here's the link to the blog post:
http://imgur.com/a/IqCTy  (I recommend using the timer on the oven... just sayin')

Have you ever had a crafting disaster after following a tutorial?? I'd love to hear about it. (That way I won't feel so bad...)

Wheeeeeeee! 1000 followers!!!

I made it to 1000 followers!!!

A huge welcome to all my new followers. Hope you like what you find here!!

In celebration of this achievement I have decided that I will no longer require anyone to email me for my files. (Unless I decide to try for 2000 followers! LOL!)

From now on I will put a link to the files in the blog post. I'll also add a new tab to the top of the page so you can easily find any files I'm sharing.

Please remember: The files are for your PERSONAL USE ONLY and should not be shared via upload; email or in any Facebook/Yahoo/Patreon or other type of group/page.

Please don't take credit for my work and claim it as your own and definitely do not charge for it!. The files are free for you to use in your projects. You don't have to say where you got the file but I sure would appreciate it if you did!

Remember all I ask is that you become a follower of my blog using Google Friend Connect before you download the files.

I have another cut file just about ready to go. Just need to fine tune a couple of things and pretty my sample up!

Sadly, it will be the last file I offer in the Gypsy format. Converting the file to a Gypsy file is fraught with frustration. Nothing seems to transfer over properly and the images don't cut at the size they are supposed to.

For example, for the file I am about to share this is what I had to do:
  • Export the CCR file as a Gypsy file
  • Open the Gypsy file in Design Studio (not Design Space)
  • Save the file as a Design Studio file
  • Fix up the sizing and placement problems that occurred during the export process
  • Resave the file as a Gypsy file
  • Export the file to my Gypsy
Only then did it cut out correctly.  I'd rather spend that time making new files to share!

At least all you Gypsy owners will now know how to successfully convert my CCR files yourself!!

Stay tuned for the next free file!

(I'm also hard at work on the Art Philosophy cartridge codes...)

On a side note before I go.... The image at the top of this post is from Lyrical Letters. I have had that cartridge since it was released in 2009 (going by the info at Cricut.com) and I have never seen that image before!! If it wasn't for the search feature in Design Space I may never have found it!

CRICUT: CTMH Artiste - Design space codes added

I have just uploaded the CTMH Artiste handbook complete with Design Space image codes!

Remember, you must type the # and the M for each code. And you can type multiple codes in the search box. Just leave a space between each code.

As for all the files I freely share, all I ask you to do is be a follower of my blog.
Just click on the blue Join this Site button at the top of the sidebar.

Once you've done that why not put your email address in the box below the followers gadget. That way you'll receive an email whenever I make a new post. I have many more edited handbooks on the go!

Please leave a comment if there's a handbook you would especially like done first!

Here's the link to the PDF: https://app.box.com/s/0v9wnye7z3mtotm7p5ji

You'll find the other three handbooks that have been done by clicking on the Handbooks tab at the top of this page.

Happy crafting!
